Ally McBeal may have something. The television show about a law firm has a unisex restroom, and the idea may be catching on. Long lines and unsanitary conditions in restrooms of sports and events stadiums are causing some to say they would opt for unisex facilities if it would help solve the problem.
A nationwide survey by Opinion Research Corp. International on behalf of Kimberly-Clark Corp. found the generally unpopular concept of unisex restrooms gaining appeal, with nearly four out of 10 people surveyed favoring the option if it would help eliminate long lines. An earlier survey by the same parties found only one in 10 people in favor of unisex restrooms.
